Randoms from Launch.com
It's Thursday. I'm being good and staying in all though it's beautiful out and I'm feeling frisky. I want to just be nice and chill right now. So here we go. A night of chess online and launch.com.
- Radiohead - Where I End and You Begin - Rather underrated song from Hail to the Thief. Good turns and probably some of the clearest vocals they've had in years.
- The Verve - The Sun The Sea - Hmm early Vere is just plain old bad. Just sadly too much Suede. Holy Shit there's a Sax in there...how lame...
- Oasis - Roll With It - If you want a rush just pop in a video clip of a live Oasis concert where they place this song. It's unstoppable.
- The Vines - Ride - This is pretty good but a little weak. I thought the first album was solid. I feel this is a step in a sideways direction for them. They sound really Cali...but then they scream alot and have a nasty slur. Plus the front man could die any day...making them legendary. Like Blind Melon popular.
- Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head - A good title track that will never see the radio. That's what it should be. It's a classic album for all half a fags.
- Jackson Browne - The Times You've Come - Since this is an early 70's jaunt I dont know how sexual the reference is. I don't think it has any. It's a pretty average piece off of a good follow up album from my favorite Singer Songwriter. I'd really like to meet Jackson one day.
- Seven Mary Three - Flagship Eleanor - Yet another solid tune by a band that gets a lot of flack for being from the south.
- Iron and Wine - Love and Some Verses - Amazing album with a slew of great songs. Couldn't recommend more. This song is par for the album. Putting it pretty high.
- Neil Young - Southern Man - Yeah we all know this tune. Why was it referenced by Skynyrd? I don't know. I guess it's mean to southern people but shit...they are kinda backwards and I think it's more about the contempt for racism and hatred in the south than about other southern people. Actually Skynyrd looks pretty stupid (easily done) taking this song for a ride.
- Travis - Writing to Reach You - Hey Bret write about different bands...don't yell at me! It's up to lunach.com. This song is awesome live though. GO ANDY! The guitarist nobody knows and everybody should.
- West Side Connection - All Critics in the NYC - A litle late...actually kinda funny that these guys are starting a fight with the east...I think Ice Cube stopped being hard after his 7th movie.
- Cake - Shadow Stabbing - I want to see Cake live once. They seem like the Beach Boys did a lot of cocain.
- AC/DC - Hells Bells - There should be an AC/DC alarm clock and this should play. And your day would be starting off awesome!
- Incubus - I Miss you - Sentimental crap. Pure and simple horrible. It makes me start reexamining other sad bastard tunes to make sure they don't sound anything like this.
- Interpol - Obstacle 2 - A band that never cracked it with their early 80's pop gimic. I love it though.
- Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter - This was the song I listened to when I bordered the plane to leave last year. It's such a good loner song.
- Grateful Dead - Casey Jones - I really don't give the Dead enough credit. They have some great songs. I guess it was more of the scene I was scared of.
Well that was enough of that...I'm headed out
