My hero
I used to think my dad was my hero.
I used to think Ted Williams was my hero.
I used to think James Baldwin was my hero.
I used to think my Grandfather was my hero.
My son is my hero. He’s brave and gentle and smart and delightfully funny that I can imagine anyone replacing him. To my son who has been through something I couldn’t imagine - something I would have never wished for him - something I was terrified of - I was terrified and scared and not nearly as brave as you. You are my hero.
